Referrals:

Our doctors accept referrals from general practitioners (GPs) and specialists, these need to be addressed directly to one of our doctors. We also accept referrals from psychologists and psychotherapists; however, to access Medicare rebates, these referrals should be directed through your GP or specialist. A referral from a GP is valid for 12 months and a specialist referral for 3 months.

Fees & payment :

Ballarat Psychiatry Group is a private clinic. Full settlement of patient accounts on the day of attendance is requested. We accept payment by cash, credit card & debit card.

Once the account is paid in full, the Medicare rebate can be claimed in one of two ways:

Your Medicare rebate can be claimed at reception at the time of payment and reimbursed directly into an eftpos savings/cheque account.

Or via the Medicare app or MyGov account.

Cancellation policy :

Patient care is of the utmost importance to us. In order to provide all patients with the best care, we require notice of 24 hours or more for cancellation of all appointments.

Late cancellations (within 24 hours) and appointment non-attendances will incur a cancellation fee. Please note that cancellation and non-attendance fees cannot be claimed from Medicare.
